Elise had a busy day yesterday. We first went to OT. She swung for 20 minutes and got incredibly calm. Then, we went to the room with the trampoline. She didn't want to jump more than 2 minutes, weird for her. Then, she willingly went in the tire swing and didn't complain about the twisting. She was so mellow. I think she didn't feel well. We then worked on some fine motor skill tasks and she did great! She strung beads, colored and stacked blocks like a pro. Most importantly, she maintained decent attention at the table, used some words and followed some instructions. Yeah Elise!
After OT, she went for a blood draw. She cried a bit in anticipation of the needle, but was really brave. As soon as she finished, she immediately asked me to put the stickers they gave her on her hands. We then both went out to eat at Follow Your Heart, a restaurant / market that offers vegetarian and vegan meals. They have a gluten free menu. I really just wanted to check out the market and see how Elise liked gluten free bread. She wasn't too up for the bread, but I was impressed with the variety of tasty food options she can eat from the market.
In the afternoon, her OT stopped by the house for a home visit. She wanted to give us ideas of things we can do at home to help Elise. She had a ton of great ideas and Elise was really excited to have her visit. Elise greeted her at the door and gave her an Elise-style hug. Elise initiated all of that. Then, she used a few words throughout the visit and interacted nicely with all of us. It was a great day for Elise.
On Sunday, we went to the beach. Elise had a great time playing in the waves on the shore. She wants nothing to do with anyone or anything else (except maybe snacks) when she's at the beach.
