We're on the up side of the rollercoaster lately. Today Elise seemed to be doing well. She's starting to feel better, gave pretty good eye contact and fell fast asleep right at 8. I didn't arrive home from work until 5:10 and her therapist was due at 5:30, not a lot of time for dinner. I had purchased a frozen meal for the kids for just such an occasion. It was GFCF fish & potato nuggets. They were actually incredibly tasty. Elise ate them as did the boys. Hurray, we're expanding our diet. I'm all excited to start making up some smoothies full of fruits and veggies. I'll get those boys having their veggies one way or another.
Today was also good on moving forward with our vast Elise to do list. I have a call into UCLA again to discuss our payment options. I also have a call into a dietician. J, Elise's behavior therapist is going to shadow Elise at school Monday morning. I managed to write a letter to the school to authorize permission for J to be there. I also set up sections in an accordian style folder to organize all of the things we need for Elise, evaluations, IEP, IFSP, diet info, supplement info, articles, medical history, contacts, schedule, insurance claims, insurance contacts, blah, blah, blah. The organization should help because it all gets overwhelming. I also scheduled an appointment for Elise's blood draw for her testing for Celiac disease. The biggest thing is that hubby made an initial contact with insurance about coverage for UCLA. We'll have to keep working on that. Right now, we're told it'll be covered, but only as out-of-network. We'll have to appeal on the basis that there is no network provider for ABA services. J also told us that we can fight with Regional Center to get them to cover some of the cost of the UCLA program.
That's all for now. It's been a lot of hurry up and wait. Nothing is going on yet and it won't be for awhile. Sigh....I just want to get moving on helping her instead of just planning to help her.
