Augh!

I didn't feel like blogging today because Elise had a really awful day today. She was so....well, autistic. She interacted very little with me, engaged in repetitive behaviors, stimmed a lot. It was not a good day with her. I'm trying to understand if anything was different today, but I'm not coming up with much. Her appetite was poor this evening. She had pizza on Thurs night, pizza for lunch and cereal with cow's milk for breakfast today. I'm really becoming suspicious of her having dairy issues. Since we're on our way to implementing a GFCF diet, we'll hopefully see some improvement if this is an issue for her. It's just so depressing when she has a day or days like this. She'd been doing so well recently. She is also STILL sick. I'm going to call the pediatrician tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I'll once again hear that she's fine or that she just has a virus and we just have to wait it out. It's been long enough now that I think I should have her checked.

I did get about halfway through my new book about implementing diets for kids with ADHD and ASD (autism spectrum disorders). I'm really excited to get started. We plan to start by eliminating all dyes & preservatives from her diet. Then, we'll move onto casein removal and then eventually to gluten elimination. I'm going to call the DAN! psychiatrist that she saw and see if we can work with her on this or if she has a referral to a nutritionist.

Well, that's it for today. Hopefully we will get Elise back sometime this week. She was really acting weird today, very hard to see.
